What were your reasons for doing this type of development work?

Data showed that EAL learners were under-represented on the gifted and talented register, particularly in literacy. More detailed data analysis showed that more-able EAL learners outperformed their peers who use English as a mother tongue (EMT) in mathematics. In contrast, their fiction writing lacked the range of vocabulary and development of ideas demonstrated by their EMT peers.
